When we decided to move to France, the first thing we needed to find out was whether they have a cat quarantine policy. Because they already have rabies there (unlike England, Hawaii and Australia) they have no quarantine. Then, we had to decide whether to fly with Kona in luggage, or as a carry-on. Since the weather will most likely be hot, and we have heard horror stories of planes being stuck on runways and pets dying from the heat, we decided definitely to carry her on. So, we bought a Sherpa Bag (see fig. 1 above). Of course, Kona hated to be cooped up in it. We try taking her for walks in it, and she just mewed pitifully. The reason for today's post is that for the first time, she enjoyed being in it! She purred, and played "bite the fingernail file" and actually stayed in the bag longer than she had to! It's a big relief to us, because now it seems like she might even enjoy the flight across. It's a chance to spend time being petted and played with, for 16 hours at a time!![]()
