These are excerpts from letters from a woman who lived in our (future) apartment: "You are going to love the apt. The view is magnificent. It is right across the street from the sea with beautiful flowers all around. It is small, as are most things in France, but nicely equipped with all new furnishings and kitchen appliances... As for the swimming, there is nothing to fear. I am a serious germ-o-phobe and my husband is a dermatologist, so I would never do anything to jeopordize my health. The water is clean, analyzed (with results posted at the beaches) and the beaches cleaned and sanitized daily. I swam every day and the water was lovely. Cannes (the municipality) spends a fortune to maintain the rating of "Pavilion Bleu"for the beaches, (a superior rating) and in fact all the sand is imported. It was not there naturally. The water at the beach in front of the apartment always had the best rating possible. The apt. is on what they call the first floor, which is what we call the second floor. There is an elevator, and a staircase that is in the building. The staircase is a sort of spiral staircase that is partially enclosed and can only be accessed by entering the building. There is a security door to the outside and there are mailboxes at the entry. As for the apt., it faces the sea. You just cross the street and you are on the beach. There is a small restaurant/bar right across the street on the beach as well. The apt. has a separate bath and the rest is all in the same room. There is a fully equipped kitchenette with fridge, combo microwave and oven, stove with two burners(electric), dishwasher, coffee maker toaster, just about everything. She also has dishes, pots, pans, cutlery, etc. all there. There are two small closets for your clothes and extra storage if needed in the basement. There is also an extra folding bed in the basement. The bed you will sleep on folds into a sofa during the day. There is a TV with some cable channels and a front balcony that overlooks the grounds (beautiful little gardens, palm trees etc.) and the sea. There is a table there so you can eat on the balcony or inside (there is also a table). The only thing you don't have is a washing machine, but there is a laundromat not far away.
